Ride ‘Em is a wonderful opportunity to become reacquainted with a beloved and influential artist and author whose work stirred the imaginations of millions of children over many decades. The lion’s share of the YAM’s collection came to the museum from the estate of Virginia Snook, daughter of Earl Snook, who was a friend of James’s in his last years.

From this embarrassment of riches, the YAM will select works that have rarely, if ever, been exhibited publicly. Personal items that give an insight into the colorful life of James will be included alongside his books and art.
