The YAM focuses on Modernist and contemporary art from the northern Rockies area, but it isn't all we have in our permanent collection! In this exhibition, we bring out works as diverse as European works on paper by Goya and Matisse to craft and fine art from the Americas.

The Yellowstone Art Museum is mining the treasures in its vault! This unique exhibition offers a look at rarely-seen treasures from the YAM's permanent collection. See what esteemed artworks are stored within the walls of our vault.
This exhibition begins with the very first work of art accessioned into the permanent collection in 1964, a gift from Alberta and Marguerite Bair. Discover how the collection grew throughout the years, highlighted by some of the strange and wonderful objects in this collection-a collection that has grown entirely through the generosity of donors. See where we are today with our ever-growing collection of more than 7,300 objects, and get a sneak peek at our new, state-of-the-art permanent collection storage facility, the Visible Vault, opening in 2010. This new facility will give visitors unprecedented access to what goes on behind the scenes in a museum. |
