Docent 2nd Saturday
October 2007 through May 2008
Join us the second Saturday of each month for a docent-led tour of the Museum's current exhibitions, followed by an art activity.

Children ages 5 to 12 welcome | 10 am - noon
$4 YAM members | $5 non-members


Class size is limited to 30 students, so call to reserve each month.

YAM CAMP
August 4 - 8, 2008
Morning Session for ages 6-9 | 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon Session for ages 9-12 | 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Tuition $95 (includes all materials and snacks), members receive $10 off tuition.
Pre-registration with payment in full is required for YAM Camp.

"Summer of Sculpture +"
We'll start by creating an environmental sculpture. Each day we will add to it
and watch it evolve throughout the week.
Day 1 - Make art aprons to wear all week
Day 2 - Clay Day, making ceramic plates
Day 3 - Make hand-made paper and sculpt with it
Day 4 - Sculpting with wood and wire
Day 5 - Paint our ceramic plates, finish up projects, and show of to your parents.

Neil Jussila "Free Form Sketching at Riverfront Park"
June 7, 2008 | 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $40 | Shelter 2, the south side of the duck pond at Riverfront Park

Enjoy a relaxed picnic-like atmosphere at Riverfront Park as you learn to
freehand sketch the landscape with basic pencil. Neil Jussila is an
accomplished artist and wonderful teacher with years of experience at the
university level. Colored pencils will also be used as you learn step-by-step
the basics of color mixing (the Impressionists Palette). You will also receive
instruction on how to save your sketches in an inexpensive portfolio. Take in
the beauty of our surroundings while transferring your vision to paper!

Workshops are filled on a first-come basis with a minimum and maximum enrollment. Students are registered
upon receipt of payment. A material list will be provided upon enrollment or by request. Cancellation Policy: If minimum number of students is not met or the instructor cancels, a full refund will be given. No refund will be given if student fails to attend. If student cancels two weeks prior to class, the fee minus a $25 handling charge will be refunded.

We are pleased to introduce a variety of adult education classes held on the 3rd Saturday of the month beginning in September. Please share your ideas!
